Really lovely experience, super knowledgeable team! We went to the make your own gin experience and would highly recommend! Got to try a wide rage of liqueurs and gins whilst making our own bottle of gin with handpicked botanicals to take home 😊 Really good value for money and a lovely family run business 😊

This was my second visit.. First was the tour. We had a lovely afternoon. Lots of fun and very educational to the complexity and ingredients of gin. We also enjoyed the tastings and Jo bought Arancello then we tasted the Lemon Verbena gin and oops we all bought a bottle as it was really nice 😊. We highly recommend this experience. Nice friendly team. My friends are coming back to Katikati in August to do our tasting of the creations.

Very informative introduction to the distilling process, and a fascinating tasting of distilled single flavour botanicals, plenty to choose from and we tried a few of the weirder ones like oyster mushrooms and fresh asparagus. The gin and liqueur tasting was very enjoyable, we tried everything including a cocktail to finish. Our designated driver didn’t miss out either, with a box of tasting samples for him to take home and enjoy later.

My visit to Matahui Distillery's Gin Lab was a thoroughly enjoyable and unique experience. Tasting the Adventurer’s Gin cocktails and Matahui liqueurs was a highlight, with each offering exceptional flavors. The delicious limoncello was irresistible, and I had to take some home.

Meeting the other lovely attendees made the experience even more special. Creating my own signature gin, guided by expert staff, was both educational and fun. The hands-on activity made for a fantastic event.

Overall, the Matahui Distillery's Gin Lab is a must-visit for gin enthusiasts and anyone looking for a memorable outing. Highly recommended!

A welcoming host and hostess, who knew their business well, and were able to answer any questions comprehensively. Not too crowded, as the Distillery Experience has limited numbers. It certainly pays to book ahead so you don't miss out. The session was well structured and unhurried. It was very interesting to taste the different extracts in order to design your own signature gin. Paul is the magic alchemist who then mixes each individual gin for each participant to take home. We also really enjoyed tasting (and buying!) a selection of liqueurs and cocktails. Plenty of cool water and nibbles are available. What a nice touch to have the sample bottles available to take home for those who were driving.
