Welcome to Matahui Distillery
We are small-batch luxury gin and liqueur makers, based in the beautiful surroundings of Katikati, Bay of Plenty. All our gins are inspired by nature and bursting with botanicals, many grown in our emerging on-site permaculture garden. We are passionate conservationists; creating gins that are kind to the planet. Led by our Master Distiller, Paul, along with our skilled gin artisans, Shelley and Angela, we are dedicated to imparting our knowledge through a series of immersive experiences in our Flavour Lab. What does the experience look like?
Our ‘Botanics to Bottle’ Gin Distilling Masterclasses are held on Saturdays from 3pm for approximately three hours, on site at Matahui Distillery in Katikati, Bay of Plenty.
A warm welcome: Begin your distillery adventure with a warm welcome from our distillery team and kick off the experience with Matahui’s signature cocktail.
Explore Nature's Botanicals: Test your taste buds and explore an array of unique botanicals in our Flavour Lab, many of which are cultivated on-site.
Craft Your Gin Recipe: Under the expert guidance of our team, create your own distinctive gin recipe using our diverse selection of botanicals.
Distillation Process: Witness the transformation of your botanical blend into gin using our distilling equipment, whilst enjoying cocktails and snacks.
Bottle Your Gin: End your journey by naming, bottling and taking home your very own 700ml gin creation, cheers!
